Council recognizes 25th anniversary
  Gravens addresses retiree concerns

HEIDELBERG, Germany – USAREUR Command Sgt. Maj. Michael L. Gravens met with members of the Army in Europe Retiree Council at its 25th Anniversary meeting Aug. 10, here, to thank both current and former members for their work on behalf of retired Soldiers and their surviving spouses.

Gravens addressed the meeting and spoke about Army in Europe transformation and how that will potentially affect retirees, who use facilities that may be closing or reducing their services.

The council is the principal advisory body to the USAREUR commanding general on matters relating to the U.S. military retiree community. The council represents the voice of more than 14,530 retirees and 2,100 annuitants. Oct. 15, USAREUR will host a Retiree Appreciation Day for all retired Soldiers and their families at Patrick Henry Village, Heidelberg.
