The USAREUR Registry of Motor Vehicles (RMV) is a Non-Appropriated Fund
Instrumentality (NAFI) with the mission of providing vehicle and firearms
registration and operator's licenses for American forces in Germany as
specified in the status of forces agreement (SOFA).
The mission requires compliance with the German law as well as US Forces
regulations. To fulfill the conditions of the SOFA, the RMV provides
centralized storage of all POV, POF and operator's license transactions, and
makes this information available to law enforcement agencies - German and
American. Registry data must also be available for Force Protection
purposes.
